Yeah thanks fine, I was with the mrs and kids we stopped for a couple of minutes at ghe shop and when it started up, it started smoking through the heater, I looked under the hood and saw little flames right under the engine but it soon took hold, by the time I'd got everyone out they were a foot high.

I clicked the thread expecting to see a tricked out e90-COTM-contender. My soul died a little after seeing this. Do you know what caused the fire? Very happy you and your family are ok though.

You know I don't know, I don't think I ever will know, possibly it was going through its dpf regeneration (it's a 330d) and we stopped but it really shouldn't blow up! Still can't believe it.
