Not true mate, I've had a 330d back box fitted bought for £40 on eBay & was fitted by local exhaust place for next to nothing

Some new tips cost more than the back box

He is right though, it doesnt fit without getting a reducer.

your exhaust shop would have just had to make up (or take off the shelf) a reducer, to mate up with the 320D system, not an expensive job, and will be cheaper than new tips (at least should be, depending how much you pay for the OEM backbox)

What's the size of 320d exhaust and 330d so we know what reducer is needed

A quick look on realoem suggests the 330d front clamp is 66mm and the 320d clamp is either 60 or 66 depending on wether its EU3 or EU4.

The 320d mid-span joiner is 55mm and the 330d version is 65mm.
