Mine was lowered on h&r springs and after 2k miles, struts are blown. I put the stock springs back on and took it to dealer for warranty work.

Were you guys running the springs on stock suspension? I talked to a freind of mine when I was researing what suspension kit to get (i settled for the H&R touring cup kit), and he told me he had a similar problem when he ran the springs on the stock sports suspension, on his 335i coupe. I also talke to Alex, who told me that it was not a good idea to run the springs on a stock (none-sports) suspension. Seems it's the same case when using them on a stock sports suspension.

Its only a problem for those that just switch only springs. If you get full replacement then youll be ok. The shocks on there right now arent meant to handle the lowered springs as well. Especially if you dont already have the sports suspension

You'll be OK. It's now pretty obvious to me that the suspension on the 328/335 was not designed to be used with after market springs. You're getting the shocks/struts+springs kit, which is the right way to do it.

I blew my struts on my previous car, a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, with stock struts and Eibach springs after maybe less than 6 months. Believe me that when your struts are blown , you will know it's blown. Your ride will feel virtually NO bouncing when going over bumps and you will feel every little holes on the road.
So for OP if that's the case, then it's better off take the wheels off and inspect your struts. My friend who has H&R sports for his E92 made the same kind of noise maybe 6 months after the springs are installed. And what do you know, his front struts were gone.

Check your installation. They should not clunk. Try checking to make sure everything is tight again and that the spring is properly seated. The bolt on the top of the damper that holds the entire assembly together should also be torqued to spec which is the cause of clunking sometimes.

Ive been on H&R sports (oem sport shocks) and its been trouble free. I do want a coilover real soon though. regardless if the op has oem shocks they really shouldnt be making that noise. especially on all of them.

weird. My last 335 had H&R race springs w/ stock sport shocks. Almost 2.5 years and 39k miles later, the stock shocks were fine.....

yea i just took my race springs off, my shocks arent blown but they were compressed way too far down i put the stock springs back on and yup im getting clunking. Im checking every thing over and over and slowing the noise goes away. but if youre getting noise check control arms and basically everything you touched

I had the same problem with a R/F clunking noise at low speed but with coilovers. I finally found the problem, the top nut was not tight enough. I tightned it up and now the noise is gone.
