Marty's E92 325i

Hi guys,

Let me introduce myself my name is Marty, I live in Herts, before I got this E92 325i I owned quite a few E30s E46s and a few E21s but never owned any E9x series BMW. I picked up this E92 last week 4/3/2017 for a fairly good price, 2 previous owners, 74000 on clock, full service history, nice and tidy motor. Came with a few extras like beige sport cream interior, piano black trims, ccc, sunroof, xenons.

I've already got M gearknob and M Sport steering wheel (which I haven't swapped yet)

There's a few things to sort out:
Rear bumper is damaged so Il be getting M Sport one
Front brake discs needs replacing
Servicing!
Drivers side speaker doesn't make any sound (can't find what's the issue)

Apart from that enjoying the car, future plans are to get coilovers because I hate that massive gap between arches and the wheels.
19" alloys
Full M sport body kit

Here's a few pictures I took today:

So today I've done diagnostics hoping to find what's the reason why sometimes I keep loosing the power. Here's the errors I found:

I've deleted all the errors and it didn't come up anymore, at least not straight away. But I still got the same issue of loosing power. Does anyone know what it might be?

So slowly but moving on:

Cleaned the M Sport steering wheel which I got for £50 And it's all ready to be fitted

Also I bought rear M Sport bumper in the same colour like my E92 which I'm hoping to fit tomorrow!

Did you solve the power loss issue? Might be worth cleaning/replacing the vanos solenoids as they're a bit sensitive to oil condition, pretty simple job to diy

I'm still on it, atm just driving it on Tuesday Il be doing diagnostics again just to make sure what's the problem. It doesn't loose the power completely, but you can feel the difference. The weird thing is that it has that power in the evenings or when it's cold outside lol.

Hi mate welcome to the forum. You can't go far wrong with SSDD quite highly regarded on the forum

The 2a87 code you have above is a Vanos solonoid. They are located on the front of the engine and take about 10-15 mins to swap out. But could try cleaning hem first and see if that solves the issues. Vanos issues can lead to loss of power past 3k

As for speaker, door trims aren't that hard to take off maybe worth swapping sides and see if problem persists. The speakers themselves aren't that expensive on eBay depending on what system you have

Welcome aboard and congrats on the purchase. Good to see you're into modding too lol.

Steering wheel and rear bumper make a huge difference.

Teddy@SSDD is a really guy to deal with and has been around for a hell of a long time.

Speaker could be connection or blown so you need to get the doorcard off to check. Good opportunity to upgrade if it's blown.
