Replacement light cluster

Car went to the dealer today for unrelated warranty issue, and i commented that i had a brake light out could they sort it while i was in there..

expecting a bill for a bulb when i got back, i was instead told they replaced the entire light cluster under warranty..

what the crap, apparently some contacts were corroded.. is this a known issue??

indeed, slightly concerned that

a) it might happen again, but
b) it will happen to the other side when i am out of warranty in march :O

This is a known and common fault. The new cluster is redesigned to avoid the the arcing issue.
