912 Porsche revival!!!!

OOOOOOHHHH YEAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

hahaha, just had to start this one off like that...

So what we have here is a severely neglected red porsche 912 which was in dire need of a reconditioning paint correction detail. single stage paint and SOFT made it a much easier job, but at the same time the condition of the paint was not the greatest! There was only so much I was able to do, but in the end, the owner was stoked on it and glad he had me do it! It went from a dull light red to a deep glossy wet liquid red!!!!

Process:
3d waterless wash
alcohol wipedown
meguiars .7" tape
Meguiars 105 and orange pad
menzerna 203 and white pad
menzerna 85rd and black pad
chemical guys ez cream glaze and black pad
blackfire wet diamond sealant and blue pad
meguiars hyper dressing on tires
meguiars glass cleaner
optimum metal polish

Befores:

Prior to starting the polishing steps, I removed all applicable pieces like the badges and the trim and rear bumper! This made polishing MUCH easier and better at the same time because I didnt have to worry about working around them and areas!!!

Here is what over an hours worth of claying results in...lots of dirt and junk in the paint! This is just after 1/2 the rear trunk area:

Here we are with a bunch of 50/50 shots and comparison shots:

After a little optimum metal polish on the license plate frame:

And finally some after shots that show the amazing gloss and wetness achieved. The paint wasnt in the best condition to go for perfection as it was riddled with deep scratches and crazing, so a huge turn around was all that was possible, not perfection!!!

all in all, for 15 hours of hard work, the results were well worth the effort!!!

I love those cars. Looks awesome. Also, +1 for what appears to be a dune buggy in the background.

I LOVE working with neglected red paint. IME it creates the most dramatic change from start to finish of any color. Great job!

Really good work! After seeing the first pictures, I thought it could never be restored as well as you did!

my pads were toast!!!! actually just a couple of them since they were older anyway...

it was quite the change, thats for sure! owner is having the whole thing revamped and after he saw what I did to the 356 porsche speedster for that shop, he told the shop owner to let me have at his car!

oh and that blue dune buggy in the back, I did that one and now the owner of it want me to take care of his fleet of 18 cars mixed with fire trucks, model A cars, classics, new cars, etc...once we can iron out the details its going to be a fun couple of months working for him alone pretty much!!!!
