Laser Interceptor Group Buy

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
This topic has come up before and I have been following the LI's progress for some time now. On the STI forum they currently have a GB interest thread and with enough people, substantial savings can be had.
This guy has been shopping the GB around to various other forums as well, Ferrari and Mazda forums that I have seen.

I am definately looking for a laser jamming setup with this car and right now there is no better product on the market. Follow the below link for additional information and registering.

Laser Interceptor Group Buy

Quote:
I contacted the Laser Interceptor people and inquired if they would like to do a group buy. They will let us do one with the following discounts:

5%: 5-10 units
10%: 11-20 units
20%: 21-30 units

The price starts at about $550 for 2 heads, with each additional head costing $175. A "unit" would be 2 heads, for this GB.

So, please post up if you are seriously interested. As in, I'll send money tomorrow. I'd rather not get a big list of yes's to only have a few come GB time.

I will also open NASIOC to this, to hopefully get more buy-ins.

A bit of a background. The Laser Interceptor is a Laser jammer. At the last Guys of LIDAR test, the Laser Interceptor was the BEST one they tested.

Are the head units for the LI very discreet? where do you typically mount them (plan on mounting them) on the M3...?

Check LI's site for placement. It says to mount them between the headlights.

Generally, laser jammers are not. Depends on where you live for the severity of the ticket, if it can be proven that you have one.

In most states it is, see here http://www.guysoflidar.com/usa-laser-jammer-laws.html

I use mine (Lidetek LE-10, LE-20, LE-30) everywhere. The thing to remember is that even in states where it is illegal, they have to prove that YOU were the source of a jam. The current guns can only tell that they were jammed, they cannot tell from where the offending light beam came. If they want to write me a ticket, that's fine. I have no issue with dragging it through the courts since I know I will win. It's an excellent way to take some of the profit out of this moronic game.

My only concern is that the LI test was done on a prototype unit, and I have yet to see any evidence that the production unit works as well . If someone had some good data here I would definitely jump on the GB

Why was this moved to e90post?

What would make an officer suspect that you have a jammer on board? What happens to his readings when his signal is blocked? Can an officer chase after you and pull you over for suspecting that you might have a jammer on board? Can he search your car on that basis?

is this device one which you can shut off/on?? I live in VA and simple radar detectors are illegal, so I imagine Jammers are probably as well DUH. Just wondering and I hear the state troopers here have a way of detecting radar detectors, cant imagine what they would do if you had a jammer

I don't think so. I seriously doubt that. I know a lot of cops. I'll ask one of them.
