E92 Battery

Battery is pretty much goosed .. just enough charge to start so need to look into a new battery.

Is it the case that a new battery has to be coded to the car ??

( may sound stupid .. but apparently it is the case for some cars.. so my mech tells me)

Yeah apparently so. Not sure why but its a simple thing to do in either INPA or DIS. I think it might be something to do with either the ED system on later cars or with the car just knowing the condition of the battery and charging it as appropriate. Think of it more as a battery reset rather than coding (albeit you need a coding machine to do it).

Hmm, looks like it doesn't work on later cars.

Have a look at this page, might have to use Tool32 assuming you got it as part of the INPA toolset.

Nice work !!

Been quoted £220 + £100 for fitting and coding , I think i'll go with the OEM and then follow the thread you pointed too.

I do have Tool32 but never used it so i'll read up on that. Battery should be delivered on weds.
Will let you know my experience .. if it's anything like my experience with xenon level sensors ( which still have errors.. then )

Only thing with tool32 and moreso winkfp, they are more powerful than ncs and if you get all excited and try and update modules, you can brick them. Stick to the battery and you'll be fine tho.
