Hi everyone...just thought to share some feelings or rather experience.
If you love your cars as much I love mine(we all work hard for them) , please make your first priority to make your car as secure as possible before you chip it, tune, retrofit etc etc
I have learnt my lesson today as I was making my car sexi and sporty and etc... I did nothing to prevent theft.
So two black guys seen by my neigbour who was woken up by his 5 year old daughter, who heard my alarm go off.
So she went onto balcony to see whats happening and two guys who immediately went for run.
So I still have my car luckily, but the psychological damage is far worse. So I might sell my car after ownership of three months.
Thanks for reading guys

That's pretty bad, at least you got chance to keep it. But like you said is it worth the extra hassle of having a bmw? It's always a chance with all bmws I think as they seam to have a weak security system.

I love mine but I do worry sometimes to the point I almost fitted a tracker!

Sorry about your incident, hope it gets sorted and you make a choice on what to do.

Get it cleared up and the window replaced, you will be fine. I have had a couple of these done; once you get the new window in and drive the car you will forget it. Takes a while to find all the pieces of glass though, I was still finding it a couple of years later.

sorry to hear mate at least no other damage was done to the car and nothing was taken. i dont knowc what they were trying to achieve really. stealing the car wouldnt have acheive more than a joy ride unless they were going to break it for parts. sounds like you live in a flat so makes it difficult to watch than say i.e. on the drive.

things like this always make you look over your shoulder just in case the person walking behind you is the f**ker who did it and you would never know.

they joys of having nice cars aye! dont worry though mate just bear with it!

thank you all guys for your kind words. Pleased to read its not just me disquasted from whats goin on with cars. Im devastated but will get over it after some time. Should be actually glad I STILL have second chance to keep it.
The car will stay under 24 hour security car park next to Lamborghinys and Ferraris until I improve the overall security. Massive Wheel lock(already bought) , obd removed, CAS module replaced with new keys, highest thatcher alarm security so the car will go mad as soon someone gets only close it
And it will be parked on a road, where there is a 24 hour security car goin up and down the street with houses worth 10s of milions. The owners know why they got private security...

Depends how far they got. It takes less than a minute to programme a new key. Often they want the owner to replace the glass so it can be shipped, sold etc. You should contact 'secure my car' if you have not already. Check out my review on here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=849292

Really sorry for you. It's not nice at all to have this. If your car has had the security update then they shouldn't have been able to do anything like reprogrammed a key etc. get some better security on there and hopefully you'll be fine.

Afaik the security update only stops window winding diwn, it does nothing to obd port

Gutted to hear this and its a shame others have to work hard to buy what they want for scum to live off later

Im surprised police have not attempted to catch the ring leaders with set up cars etc to trap them

well this is the reality of this country m8. I am a foreigner here, however Im feeling like at home by living here, working, paying taxes etc for over 11 years.
The police have closed my case yesterday after 24 hours of reporting it. It is very sad they cant do more even if they could 100%. They didnt even bother to knock my neigbours door , who saw the two black guys trying to take my car.
And it is the same story with NHS from my experience. Unless you are dying they wont bother. It is irrelevant I pay more £100 each month to them trough my employer.
However if you dont pay you get response like nowhere else. So I think the system pretty much focked as my country.
My thoughts at the moment are to sell my beloved 2 months old car and leave as there isnt any difference between my corrupted country and here.
Im probably still pretty negative since saturday but it left a huge psychological damage on me. Time will tell. Thank you

The security update does protect ODB key programming by using a system called SOPT+.

Unfortunately there are still expensive tools which can bypass this system. Although programming takes longer than previous hacks.

It's simple, you have a nice car. People that haven't got your car want it. Some of those people are thieving scum and will try to steal your car by programming themselves a new key or by entering your house and taking your key.

Simply move / temporarily disable / modify your ODB port, keep your keys safe and out of sight.

In these times we live in you have to take some responsibility and adapt prevention techniques.

Move ODB and get a steering wheel lock. Someone on here did a batch of stickers for hte windscreen to say port disabled. Might be worth getting one made up as well

Scary stuff and i hope you keep such a lovely car. Advice above is KEY and 2 simple things could save you heart ache (OBD Port move and Steering Lock)

On a more lighter note, if one can be had on this post, you might want to park a little further away from the Kerb in future! Not that it will stop your car from being nicked, but it might protect your gorgeous Wheels

Get your key code changed NOW!
There is every chance they have already cloned your key and are waiting for you to replace the glass!

How much is it to re-code the keys? If you're looking at £800+, I personally won't bother... I'd pay £100ish for GAP insurance (worst case - the car is stolen).

It all depends how much these security upgrades are going to cost you!
