Xenon bulbs

Do all circa 2008 e92 cars have a D1S xenon bulb with the built in igniter?
Reason I ask is that mine look a little tired I feel and possibly need replacing. Is there a guide on here showing this done?

They go purple just before they go.

It is D1S bulbs and they aren't cheap for quality bulbs.

When I replaced mine it took a little while first time around. Not sure how much time can be shaved off, but doing it first time I'd certainly give yourself a couple of hours to be safe.

I jacked the car up. You can get access with the wheel on but certainly better off.

You need to remove all the lining inside the wheel arch and you can access the light from behind.

Certainly not the best bulb change process.

i wouldn't say they all go purple ...

Mine just lost brightness/colour so i replaced them.

only took me say ... 15/20 minutes per side.

jacked car up front wheels off undo the front part of the wheel lining and then torx screw on the back of the headlight.

be sure to go for quality bulbs if you want them to last.
