Front Aero Lip for e92
Has any used this before and can comment on its reliability, it's fitment and quality?
They say it's made from high quality fibre glass - is that what they're usually made from? It seems 2 people have bought these exact ones and are ver happy the way it turned out but I thought FWIW, best ask here in case people knew anything about it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2610799276...orig_cvip=true |

I think they are normaly made from plastic. When i spoke to a bodyshop about fitting one from ssdd the first question was "its not fiberglass is it?" Im guesing fiberglass is more tricky to fit by the way he said it!

looks mint for the price... shame there are none for e90... would almost be worth a gamble at that price

Do not fit a fibre glass bumper, you drive a BMW not a Corsa! The few quid saving isn't worth it. They crack, the paint peals, they don't fit properly and most decent bosdyshops won't want to touch them.
Save a few quid more and get a proper plastic one. Doesn't have to be a BMW item, SSSD and the like do perfectly reasonable plastic copies. |

Fibreglass bumpers should not be on BMW's, especially modern 335d's |

The thing with fibreglass is that if you hit anything with it will crack and is nowhere near as durable as the plastic.
I had a fibreglass front bumper on my first car, an Escort Mk4! Fcuk me the amount of hours i spent repairing it and getting it resprayed still give me nightmares! |

This??
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3603589916...84.m1423.l2649 They're based in Slough and these are almost double the price and also made from GRP - Glass reinforced plastic...... is this another way of saying fibreglass lol?! Any comments on them and worth getting? If decent, then much MUCH less than Teddy's price.. Gotta look after the pennies so no offence to the man himself lol. |
