With higher horsepower setups somewhere in the area of 500 whp and up a single mass flywheel is needed. Not sure if there are any aftermarket flywheels available for the stock clutch.

I think this clutch would be a good fit for people who are FBO but not running ragged or using meth. If it can hold the heavy 550i power and torque it should be able to support the light 335i to 500rwtq easy.

This is a perfect oem upgrade instead of getting a act clutch.

Guys, the 335is clutch is nothing new. Many people were installing them before Spec and ACT became the go to with upgraded turbos. The pressure plate is beefier, and provides additional clamping force over the stock 335 pressure plate. How much exactly has yet to be quantified. I've never heard that the clutch material was different until looking at ECS' website.

Well hopefully someone figures that out. I'm still trying to decide between a Spec stage 2+ or 3+ with smfw. Lol

Well I wish someone with this clutch would come in and say how it has worked out for them

edit: I know this came in the 335is so I could search a FBO example of that, but being a rare-ish car there isn't a lot of examples/documentation.

I haven't checked part numbers and cross-listings, but I'd assume that the original clutch in my 1M is the same as the 335is.

Easy, smooth, friendly clutch -- but I don't believe it would hold the power that my current clutch (a Spec. Stg. 2+) handles.

How many miles did you run it for? Did it begin to slip? Mods? Reason you went up to Stg2+?

Depending on fuel, I'm between 430 and 480 at rear wheels. I replaced the stock clutch before it started slipping.

Doesn't the 1m have the 6mt from the n55 not the n54? I guess they could share the same
clutch though???

Thank for the information, I'm considering the 335is clutch you are offering too.
Will I need a new flywheel too when replacing the clutch?

Depends on the condition of the fly, ours was in good shape so we reused it.

I believe the 1M has the same tranny as the N55 and the same clutch as the 335is.

Just ordered the 335is clutch upgrade kit from you! With a few others parts.
I hope my flywheel is ok, because it's expensive as hell in our cars.

Agreed it's grossly expensive. Shoot me a PM with your order number I'll add it to my watch list to make sure everything is extra smooth for ya.

Can you please provide feedback on how it performs after you get it installed and break in? This would be much appreciated.

Also, how many miles on your stock flywheel, and are you tuned?

Thanks.

I searched for exactly this thread and to see if anyone had experience with this ECS 335is clutch. I'm at 78k with a JB4 and slipping a bit more these days. This sounded like the cheapest option for us with basic mods.

I will as soon as I get my car back. Took it earlier today to the shop to install the new clutch, but they found it wasn't my clutch it was my flywheel that was bad

$1200 flywheel rush shipped later, and I hope my car will be ready with a new flywheel and the ECS 335is/550i clutch Monday.

To give an idea of what it can hold, currently Dinan is maintaining this clutch in their packages putting down upwards of 580ft-lbs of torque in the F10 550i. Long story short, it can hold a ton of power.

Does this fit a 2009 335xi? I think my clutch might have started slipping last night and debating doing this or the spec 2+.

Is it recommended to change the Clutch Delay Valve as well? Can it be done quickly?
And does the clutch fluid need to be flushed?

Per my notes the Xi is going to require a different clutch than the rwd, so it's not going to fit properly.
