Carry your latest photo files in the ipod as a data file. When at your next computer update the photo file from ipod, plus update this file with new photos from your camera. Then sync with the ipod to view photos. Delete old photo file on the ipod and update with the latest file. Move on to your next location and next computer. Endless updating required but you will always be carrying your latest photos in your ipod.

Odd. Itunes takes about 15-20 secs to open up on my PC, but once it's running I have no problems.

It don't think it ever runs slow or freezes.

Still you gave it a full 30mins

Just had a look at Yamipod. Obviously less resource hungry, but I like coverflow and the itunes store, which I tend to browse before sourcing my mp3's elsewhere

How are finding the IPOD itself?

I'd recommend ditching the ear buds pretty quickly and getting something better. e.g. sennheisers:

The buds haven't been out of the packet yet - using a pair of Sony fontopia's. I like the interface and now I've got the car kit installed - chuffed so far. Will try itunes on another PC as the one I tried it on was a lower spec and the music is on a network drive.

Maybe the network drive is the issue. My music is on a local hard disk.
