did he do the single or dual layer file? Honestly if it works in his E60, you should just ask him if he can burn you a copy instead of keep trying to mess with the files.

hey guys i've been trying to burn a working copy but nothing has worked so far. I've tried burning fast and slow on both verbatim dvd+r and memorex dvd+r. The weird thing is that I burned a copy of my 2006.2 pro version dvd and it worked. Any ideas? Anyone with a 06 e90 get it to work? thanks.

Finally got it right
So after burning multiple copies of the full version of the 2009.1 NAV dvd and all of them failing. I finally got one to work perfectly in my 2006 325i sedan. I used nero burning rom 8 in ISO 9660 only mode, level 1, turned off all the relax retrictions and burned it on a verbatim dvd+r dl at 2.4x. It works perfectly. Even the POIs work. Now here's the thing I tried making a copy of the verbatim dvd that works onto a cheap windata dvd+r dl on the copy didn't work even though I burned it at 2.4x. I guess our cars are picky about the dvds. Hope this helps.

I just downloaded the file and used ImgBurn at 1X speed on a Sony DVR+R. Worked first time out in a '06 335i.
Thanks guys. |

Thanks for the info. I did the same, but used a DVD-R. I'm not sure what the difference is, but it worked. I also did it at 1x speed. Mine makes lots of quiet squeeking noises constantly though. It's starting to get annoying. Let me know if you are experiencing the same. I might try to burn it again at a higher speed and see if that makes any difference.

yeah, the i-Drive is VERY picky about how it likes its navigation DVD's. What's up with that? I had to try 3 different DVD's before I copied one good enough for it to accept it.

The link I posted worked like a champ. I DL with uTorrent and burned with ImgBurn at 1x on a HP DVD-R single layer.
If anyone needs a copy in San Antonio or the surrounding areas, send me a PM. |
