Thumbs down Need help identifying rattle

Out of nowhere this morning, I got in my car and when I hit the accelerator, a hard rattle came after. This happens every time I rev up and the rattle occurs specifically as the engine lowers RPMs.

After doing some digging, it sounds like the dreaded wastegate issue. Can someone confirm this for me?

Furthermore, I have seen the warranty extended to 82K/8 years; however, I am not the original owner (it's a 2007 w/ 41K).

I may be swinging by the dealer today to see what they say.

Any help is appreciated...

My phone sound quality isn't the best, and I couldn't make out a distinct rattle either.

If it is wastegate rattle you still qualify to have it fixed under the 8yr/82k miles. I am the second owner of my car and had a turbo replaced last year on my car.

I also had rattle thinking wastegate. I went to the dealership and they said vacuum line is leaking (not covered by my extended warranty)....quoted me $615 to fix!! I said hell no.....end up paying $140 diagnose fees.

UPDATE: Took it to the dealership where they very briefly looked at it and pretty much confirmed the rattle was the waste gates and it would be covered under the extended warranty if it is indeed them.

Have an appointment for next Friday.

Now - if they do confirm, what do they replace? Just the wastegates? Not sure how that works. Anybody have experience with this?
