I'm not sure where you’re coming from doing the air filters yourself, if you want to preserve your warranty you will need a full service history....
E.g - If you have turbo issues I would be certain this would be rejected as this could be due to the air filter. How would they know you fitted it correctly?? I would either do it all yourself or all by the dealer. Just my thoughts |

The requirement is to use BMW parts and replace at correct interval, it doesn't say anything about who needs to do the work. Also micro and air filter replacement can't go wrong so they really would struggle to argue mis fitment caused a problem.

I think you need to check again!!
A vat registered garage must carry out the work, changing the parts yourself doesn't count for anything as far as warranty is concerned. Why pay hundreds for a warranty if you’re not going to keep it valid?? |

I can see both sidesof the argument here, too be on the safe side I will ask at the dealer of how much extra it would be to fit the micro filter/air filter on the day considering how easy it is to do
But not sure if others are aware to change the air filter on the 35d is hell alot easier than on the 30d - takes no less than 30 seconds - 3 clips, unclip box, swap filter and clip back up and to pay £86.50 (as I been quoted by another dealer) |
