Awesome New Phone Holder
Good day, All
I own an 2007 E92, ordered the first day they would take orders and have 162K miles as of this morning. The reason for this post, as the title suggests, is a cool solution I found for a way to hold my I-Phone. I bought it from Bavarian Autosport from their just released winter catalog for $29.99 - Part number B5100001. I've been looking for a good phone holder I could use that didn't attach to the window, was below the sill line (privacy), and most important - use the holder without having to remove the skin from my phone. What i didn't expect was a product that is, at least one of the parts, made by Kensington products, and is very well packaged and made. As you can see from the pics, the phone holder attaches to the pop-out cup holder by a slot that slides over the cup holder end with a clever button type clasp that keeps it all together. It doesn't interfere with the cup holder mechanism, and is easy to assemble (instructions are provided, but I didn't really need them). My only complaint is that it is a tight fit (probably to keep it from rattling) and is easier installed than removed. It doesn't mar the finish on the cup holder either, but mine's on now and is never coming off. What I love is the easy reach. I can one-hand my phone into the Kensington clasp, and over the course of one week, can change audio tracks by touch. (wish I could text by touch, but I don't drive and text anyway). So - if you're looking for a good phone holder for your 3-Series with the pop-out cup holder, this might be what you're looking for. For $29.99, it's the cheapest one I've found, and puts the phone in a great spot for easy use. Regards - |

You can't go wrong with the Kenu Airframe either. Couple of my friends saw mine and bought one for themselves right away.

This thing looks pretty nice. I was just emailing Bav Auto about this the other day trying to get more info. I realize that you have an iPhone but does it seem like it would fit a bigger phone? My phone is 71 mm or 2.8 in wide with a case. Can you tell if that would fit? Maybe measure the grippers when they are fully extended? Thanks!

Actually the Kenu only covers less than half a vent on our bimmers so the air restriction isn't that bad.

Kenu all the way. I just got mine and it's so simple and unobtrusive. I love it. $25 at the Apple Store and it works with or without a phone case.
