Castrol Professional SLX vs Castrol Edge Professional Motor Oil
I went in to buy some motor oil today and it looks different from the one I bought last fall. At that time I bought the SLX type:
The one I bought today is in a more traditional gold colour bottle. The bottle below is not the one I bought. I'm just showing you guys the colour of it: Any idea why the change? Is it maybe the same product under different packaging? My invoice also shows a new part # now for this oil with a line below saying "old" followed by the previous part # for the Castrol SLX. |

GBD, the main thing is to make sure it has LL04 approval (which I'm sure you already know anyway). I've read some stuff over on Bob is the Oil Guy about branding, etc. on this oil, but frankly it puts me to sleep. This kind of change drives me nuts - why should you as the consumer have to try to figure out their silly labeling?

I agree DD and it is LL04 approved as well. Funny how they're changing the part # for it too.

Also wanted to point out the price discrepancy for this oil from two dealers here in Toronto. One had it at $13.82 for a bottle and the other for $9.00 a bottle.
