Winter Tyres - Has anyone gone too far!

Hello,

I know there are many other threads on the benefits of these and last year I got a set of Avon Ice Tourers, or something like that, and they have been amazing last year and this year in both the snow and frozen conditions.

Quite simply they do what they say on the tin!

Anyway, when I was driving home tonight, deep snow, -10deg, up and down gradients I wondered if anyone has got too cocky and exceeded their winter tyres limits, there must be a point where they give up?

Stu.

Not found it yet. I did approach a sharp bend at a speed which I thought may be pushing it and it started to understeer but I just backed off the power and it came back in line and went round the corner, bloody amazing. And it's Avon Ice Tourers I have fitted

Hah I was able to confuse the car into a nice 4 wheel drift without engaging TCS at all, but only briefly. And I did it on purpose.

Really i've been invincible so far. People in the office are bordering on the jealous. They all keep having discussions about how difficult their drive's in have been.. And I just reply "Was OK for me... " hehe

Every storm you see these people in the ditch and smashed up because they have no clue that NO season tires are for NO season not for snow and ice and that AWD doesn't change the laws of physics.
Oh dear, I think someone on here may wish to differ.

Does that negate the almost anonymous PM you sent me then.

Life's too short mate. Maybe time to move on.

Drive safe and fingers crossed your car will be reliable.
