Another former Mitsu guy in CO
Hey there!
Thought I should post something since I've been lurking so long. I bought '08 CPO sparkling grey 335xi sedan, sport package a few months ago. JB4, ER charge pipe, and AFE filters so far. My background in turbo cars goes back nearly 23 years as my first was a '83 Volvo 240 turbo. I own a Volvo service shop in east Denver. I've been around the Mitsubishi scene since the beginning in Colorado, I drag raced a '93 Talon that went 12.3 @112 mph back in 2000. I've been involved in all kinds of builds over the years, several DSMs, a Celica AllTrac, Single turbo Supras, a Galant VR4, a 4g63 converted Mirage... I've known Carl Morris since way back then, and I'd like to think my badgering had a little to do with the purchase of his XI. My 335 is my daily driver, so my goals are not lofty. I'd still like to do meth and a FMIC. I'm not as active on the internets as I used to be- funny what small children do to ya! I'd like to meet some of you in the future, hopefully at Bandimere or High Plains. |

Hi Jason. My name is Carl and I'm a boostaholic. I don't know if you saw my posts on CoDSM but I'm currently fooling with a Cobb. Hardware is still stock so far. I'm signed up for Boulder Nissan's private day at Bandimere on April 7th.

Sparkling Graphite, my favorite!
I own an 06 WRX wagon that I've upgraded to Stage 2 Cobb. I'm having boost spiking problems though

I've only played with it a minimal amount so far. I thought maybe the traction control wouldn't get triggered with an AWD, but I was wrong. So I'll have to be sure and shut it off at Bandimere when I get a little more serious. I keep bugging Cobb for a 2-step, but for now I'll have to go old-school with the launch and floor it at the 1st yellow and drop the clutch on the third and then raise the initial rpm each time until the bog goes away.

Look at all the Colo DSM'ers converting!
I was on CoDSM for years and I was a moderator for RMDSM. Leaving all that in the past, I picked up my 08 335xi about 2 years ago and I'm loving it!

Welcome..ex-mitsu here as well, Evo 8.
Might bring my 335 over to Bandi for a fun run this year to see what Dinan stg2 flash does before I get rid of it (the flash)

Just a question for you guys: I can find what I need on these boards, but it's a bit painful. If there's any interest in a Colorado Turbo BMW mailing list I could have one running in about 5 minutes :-). I'm not sure that we've quite reached critical mass to go local only, though. I'd be interested to hear any thoughts on that or a Facebook group, or ???

Is it local? It would be nice to have something fairly focused on turbos and local.
Speaking of which, is this anybody here? Just saw it a few minutes ago in Longmont... |

I always knew I was making the right choice with a BMW!
Funny how we all gravitated over here.. Somebody better ping Mark Phillips and John Erickson - two more ex DSMers with 335s |

I think a local list would be helpful for sure. There are some heavyweights in the turbo world already here, it'd bd great to be able to focus and bounce ideas off of each other.

I didn't know John had one. Mark is a tough sell for getting seriously involved again. I'm around him fairly often, he's gotten way more into off roading and no serious interest in modding the 335 so far. He drove my car a week ago or so with the Cobb and I can tell it gave him a bit of an itch, though :-).

I just think we need critical mass and I'm not sure we're quite there yet...we'd need at least a dozen people who enjoyed participating in that kind of thing to be worth it, IMO. |
