How I mount my Galaxy Tab 7.0
Instead of using one of those ugly tablet mounts for cars, I used velcro.
It costs $3 at Home Depot. For music playback, I use PowerAmp Wirelessly stream music to the car stereo using this bluetooth device This is my first thread and I just wanna share this with you guys |

I guess we could mount the ipad mini there same as you did.
If you buy a holder, you can fit it b/w central silver trim and the part of dashboard above it. (Same principle as to mount BMW nuvi satnav holder).

Does it bounce around while you're driving? I'm thinking of getting one of those form fitting cases for my mini and putting the velcro on that and leaving it in the car.

I use the belkin aircast too, awesome device to turn your car with aux into a bluetooth enabled vehicle. Tobad they are discontinued and I can't get them at work anymore

Don't know if it's that the back of the mini is flatter than the one on the Galaxy Tab, but just mocking it up, I can't find a spot above the air vents where it feels like it will attach and be stable, due to the complex curvature of the dash.

I decided against continuing to use it because I didn't like the velcro on my iPad. The other downside is that I like the cables to be routed along the passenger side but the smart cover had the cable connection on the driver's side. The upside was that it was pretty sweet to have my LTE enabled iPad there for streaming music and the GPS was awesome. Siri also worked great. I may do it again if I can find a hard case that works with the smart cover so I can leave the back of the iPad velcro free. |

Interesting. Which kind of Velcro did you use?
This is the one I used http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...1#.UMrDgJPjl18 |

I did that with a small gps in one of my cars. When it got hot, it fell taking both sides of the Velcro with it and left an adhesive mess that didn't come off the dash.
Now I use a Kuda mount in the 335 and screwed my iPhone cradle into it. Much better. And no dash mess, just unbolt and looks like nothing was ever there. |

I'm an idiot..I put the velcro in wrong. I put 2 of the non-furry parts of the velcro in meshed together rather then one furry end and one hardened end. I'll try it out again this weekend

Is this stuff available on ebay or any other website? Update:: ordered it from ebay. Will report when I install this. Does the glue leave a scar on dashboard? |

i have that same belkin, i think i might go a head and get a tablet too ( just for gps and music ) . only thing if you turn the car off the bluetooth disconnects and does not automaticall reconnect when you turn the car back on . and you also have the car on for it to work. where as if you are using just the aux the car does not have to be "on"

The problem with Velcro is shown at 1:38. The velcro adhesive is pulled away from the wall, giving up before the velcro does. Huge PITA.
