Serious Pothole damage: GSP, right before exit 157

This pothole can probably fill 2 bodies, deep as fuk, no joke.
Both the passenger side BBS CH wheels are waffled (no tire damage though)

Does anyone know how to pursue this with the GSP authority? what are my chances, i mean you can't miss this thing.

Thanx all.

That is the same location I hit last Thursday. I assume you were southbound in the far left lane? It killed two of my RFT's.

Let me know if this is where you were too, and I will contact them.

actually i was heading north and I was in the middle lane, this thing was like 6 feet long and 2 feet wide, 1 foot deep.
i just got off the phone with some lady from the GSP, she is sending me some claim forms to fill out. We'll see where it goes.
I doubt they'll pay $400 for straightening and refinishing.

the red tape in nj is way too thick.
I already have 2 new wheels coming in, but i just wanted to see how far i could get with my claim in the mean time.

I'm not about to go down that path. Will simply file a damage claim and see what comes if it. The Turnpike Authority has a process to address these situations.

Similar thing happened with me a few years back with another car. Big pothole on RT208 North...blew out both left side tires and bent both wheels. My cousin is a lawyer so I had her contact the authorities and they're excuse was "we didn't know about it until now, so it's not our problem". Fuckin thing was fixed the next day and I was out almost $1000 for 2 wheels and tires.

Good luck man, its gonna be a bitch to collect from the State.

WTF now that is something Id like to see...they do that in the city all the time and everywhere else..work stupid slow so they dont finish the job in one day or 3, and let it be really bad...leaving it stupid deep, even over 6 inches is just asking for a problem...regular cars have problems like that.

I remember the huge crater 3 years ago on Belt, right before exit 11 I think it was..Flatbush ave...everyone in the right lane that hit it, lost something..I seen people shear rims straight off the car, break tie rods, balljoints, tires ripped completely off the wheel, hubcaps you name it. I was doin a delivery in the van one day at my old job and got off that exit, and like every towtruck or flatbed in Brooklyn was there...everyone was getting a spare put on or gettin towed away or flatbedded...it was really bad.

I remember seein one dude there in a nice benz, his knockoff AMG wheel had completely separated from teh car..just the center of the wheel where the lugbolts attach it to the car was still there..the front bumper and sideskirt were all messed up from scraping along the ground when the wheel let go.

He had the complete..or what was left of the wheel and the tire still around it sitting next to the car.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm will be going on GSP North and South on the way home today to meet up with the guys at V17. So, on North bound, I will stay on the left lane and coming home on the South bound, I will just stay in the middle lane.

potholes

watch out for 80w as you pass paterson..it's a minefield..ther r cars on the side of the road all the time. i just got new csl's after i bent my rim and busted my tire (different rim and tire each time) for the second time in 3 weeks..you have to file a police report at the scene before u file the claim...it take about 2 months to get the refund..paying 9k in taxes for shitty ass roads...

i used to have 19" mrr gt1's on my 330. I hit some of the biggest/craziest potholes at mild/high speeds and the wheels never got damaged. For cast wheels i was suprised at the strength.

NYC roads suck balls

edit: Im gonna pissed as shit if my new iforged cant stand up to those.
