Goodbye Clutch :( It sounded terrible when it broke down.

My OEM clutch has officially retired at 140,000km's
I was pretty sure my clutch would get well over 150,000km's when I got this car used, but I guess not. There were absolutely no symptoms of it going before it happened.

I was about to head out from home and when I was backing my car out of my parking spot, gear pops out and the clutch would not engage. When that happened I tried turning off the car to see what's up. When I tried turning it back on the car wouldn't bite. No turning over what so ever, as if the engine was thinking I didn't have my clutch pedal pressed before starting the car.

Painful sight, painful sound.

I was pretty sad when seeing it get towed away.

Its ok man, it happens.

My clutch died out in a cruise over 3 hours away from home. I had to get it towed all the way back home $$$$, while a bunch of crazies in the only house in view for miles were staring at me like I was going to be tonight's dinner.

You got it easy :P

I was just about to say, that sounds VERY familiar, for sure I read it on here when it happened too.

130,000km on my original clutch, still working perfectly.
230,000km on my old car's original clutch when I sold it, still worked perfectly too.

The only car I can speak of that a had a clutch with high mileage was my 1993 Civic Si with 350,000km still on the original clutch and still works perfectly. Man, I gotta get around to selling that car...
