lol I have that song on a disc somewhere. Anyways, I prefer the standard R8 more in terms of looks.

Btw, doesn't this go in the general car section?

One of the mods will move it eventually. But that was absolutely amazing. What's the name of the song? I know I have it on my phone, but I dont' remember the name?

Regardless, it's interesting that this is the greatest supercar that has ever come out of the big 3 and it comes from Audi. An impressive feat.

They could, and they should, but according to them they don't need to. They don't see the benefits of a low volume, high performance car, and they prefer to stick to selling things like their M5's and M6's as their top of the line performance cars.

I personally think that there are plenty of benefits. First and foremost, the brand's rep will be boosted immensely. It's a great brand hype generator, and it also is a showcase of a brand's technological capability.

We can only wish...

I think they kind of tried with the Z8. It was just a miserable failure. I think Mercedes tried the same thing with the SLR, which too, outside of looks, was a pretty miserable failure.

well the Z8 wasn't really a supercar. it was a luxury GT at most. It wasn't bold or expensive enough. I guess BMW's last atempt at a supercar was the M1.

You're right. Their one and only attempt at a "super car" was the M1. It was a mid engine rear wheel drive low slung sports car. It's the only car BMW's made that really qualifies as a super car.

It will have a lot of power (500hp and 1000Nm) which believe it or not they will be working on to improve but while it will have an impressive exhaust note I doubt the interior noise will be near as loud as it is from the petrol v8.

P.S.

Target weight will be only 100kgs more than the current R8 and it's weight balance between the axles looks like it will remain the same. Diesel or not this thing is the future and will be a real threat to the establish supercars, it's hard to think how any other company can top such a machine from purely a PR point of view.

Already put name down for a trade with R8..this thing is quite an achievement for minimal weight addition.

If only my parents are still around - I have children in college. And there are plenty of people on forums from various financial backgrounds.
