First Mod

Hi guys,

I was hoping to get some advice on the best first mod.

My thoughts were:
BMW Performance Exhaust
TCKline Coilovers

Thoughts on which would be best or if something else would be better.

So far I have black kidney grills and performance package on the car due to ordering the performance edition.

Thanks your thoughts and suggestions are welcome!

Great ideas! I think that Coilovers should be first, but before the exhaust, I would have to say get a tune, downpipe, intake (for you n54 guys), then the BMW PE!

I hope this helps. It is usually the course for a lot of n54 guys around here.

Tint is already in the works, and that's why I didn't mention it.

My local dealership recommended a tint shop to me but I found out they only use dyed tint. (install for $199) That concerns me a little so I am looking more. I kind of want to put ceramic on so it lasts a little longer.

I probably will wait until spring to do the install on either, but if I find a good deal I would purchase them.

Tune! If you're not worried about warranty. Then again doesn't XI sit a bit higher? They do look great lowered.

JB4 or Procede. Changes the car, then coilovers.

Oh.. You have n55.
Tune, coils, dp, BMW PE if that's the case.

Yep it's a n55. I'm a little hesitant to tune at this time.

I think PE is a good idea but if you're looking to lower your car, probably coilovers and then PE. You say you're hesitant about a tune at the time but if you weren't I'd definitely say to go with a tune before PE and coilovers.

def coils first. The X drives have a terrible wheel gap. It'll improve the look and handling and get rid of the "floaty" feel. Tint is relatively inexpensive as well. After that, I'd say performance mods.
