starting rpm
I noticed my car sometimes does cold starts at close to 2000 rpm, then almost immediately drops to around 1100 (then to 900 after 30'ish seconds). That seems a bit to high, and with the PE, the difference between a 1500 rpm start-up (what I usually see) and 2000 is huge! I know outside/coolant temperature is a factor, I just can't figure out a pattern (with a cold engine, I've seen starts at 1500 with sub-freezing temperatures and at 2000 with 60+ outside).
Other then that, I don't see anything wrong, no idle fluctuations (warm or cold) or anything. Any idea of why the starting rpm varies so much? What starting rpm are you guys seeing? |

On a normal cold start it initially revs up to around 1500, immediately levels off around 900-1000, then eventually goes down to 600-700 when warm.

Not worried, only annoyed at how loud it gets. From what I hear from you guys, normal starting rpm is in the 1500 range.

It's like ~1200, and pretty loud when you have the secondaries out on a cold start
