Lotus unveils the new Evora

Lotus has unveiled the Evora - its first new car in 13 years at the 2008 London International Motor Show.

Everything about the new 2+2 sportscar had been kept a closely-guarded secret pre-launch, including the name. It had only been known as Project Eagle.

Lotus Manufacturing Director Luke Bennett gives us a tour of the car and explains why the company thinks it will be a success.

It looks good.....however, much as I like Lotii unfortunately I think its too expensive and not quick enough.....

I suspect 280bhp will just be the teaser power figure. Why would they bother going to a big heavy 3.5 V6 only to produce a few more bhp than a top elise.

1350kg and 400bhp would be more like it

Agreed and they undoubtedly will....but then it will be even more expensive

At the launch price - £58k fully optioned up - it just isnt powerful enough.
