Best Performance Summer Tires?

Hello
I have 09 355i sedan with sport pkg, looking for Non RFT Summer performance tires, I don't want bumpy ride "RFT", what do you guys recommend? Gary any promotions you offer at tirerack????
Note: I wont track my car.
I heard good things about this Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position Blackwall

The top two choices in the max performance summer tire category would be the Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position. Between the two, the Pilot Super Sport (commonly referred to as PSS on the forums) has a bit better dry grip and faster steering response, while the Bridgestone S04 has a slightly softer ride and in most sizes is a bit more cost effective.

The PSS did indeed have better wet traction in our testing.

Comparing ride harshness to another tire would require me knowing the exact model of tire that you would like me to compare it to.

PSS, Star Spec, S-04, DWS all excellent choices. Something like an RS3 would be more aggressive and def. not streetable outside of dry summer conditions.

FWIW, I would not put DWS's in the same category as the pss's and the s04's. DWS are all weather tires with max treadlife. I would not recommend them as max performance summer tires. Even DW's aren't in the same league as far as performance.

Think Pat might have mean DW instead of DWS.

Oops - I meant DWs.

I do think DWs are outstanding summer tires but agree, not quite the same level of performance as PSS and Pole-Positions.

Edit: ^the smart dude above beat me to the punch lol.

lol Pat.

I would recommend DW if your car is solely for the streets. I had mine for 4 years, it has more than enough dry and wet grip for sane street driving as long as the temp is above freezing. The ride is compliant and road noise is low even toward to the end of lifespan for my last set. I got more than 20k miles of spirited driving out of the rear tires from my last set (265/30 19) while the front still has 40% left.

The only complaint is the soft sidewall on these leading to slightly mushy steering response. But the prices on these are $2-300 dollars less than the PSS, so you really can't complain much. Just don't track or auto-x with these tires, these is just too much tire flex under rapid steering inputs.
