Agreed, that's what I noticed. When you combine it with the Performance exhaust, it gets even better. The engine is breathing so much better...and the sound is awesome. It feels like I'm driving a new car

That not a bad trade off, a few hundred ($800 US) will get you that "feel like a new car" feeling again vs loosing thousands on a down payment of a new car.

So after doing a little more driving today - and on the highway, I notice that gaining RPMs is definitely faster. It's truly beginning to feel like a new car; and the exhaust would seem to be a great addition. Makes me wonder why BMW doesn't offer a "Performance" option spec on the NAs!

+1 on that. They should have offered the performance pkg w/ performance steering wheel, shift kit, exhaust, intake, and ecu tune. Then again, this would creep up real fast on the price of a 335i.

Will it be some sort of discount if we buy the performance intake+exhaust together? hehe!

I totally agree with you on that...what a great way to spec a new car. It should be optional.

You know what, I know we're getting close to costs of a 335 BUT, there's something to be said about [enhancing] the silky smoothness of this NA engine (compared to a FI one)...

This seems like the right thread to ask...
I've been searching around to find some sound / video clips with JUST the bmw perf intake installed... anyone have one?
(I could only find perf intake + exhaust clips... or other intake clips... search fail? )

Question about the airbox

I have the intention to order an airbox, but i see less people who have bought such an airbox and i wanted to know their opinion about it.

The box cost here in The Netherlands about EUR 825,-

I want to fitt it myself, i think it would not me difficult.

The only reason why i want this box is the sound, i am looking for a sound like the E46 M3. Can anyone confirm me that the sound is great???

Is the airbox with frontscoop or must i use my own scoop?? I mean the part which take the air behind the grill. The original part is such small...or is there something else for sale ?

See picture.

You will need to reuse the stock front scoop.

You get this from Tischer BMW. There is a thread for the BMW performance intake in the sponsor for sale threads in the non-turbo section. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171985
