1) Model and Transmission - e92 335i 6MT
2) Elevation, Temp and Humidity - Englishtown low 60's, don't know humidity 3) All performance modifications done to the car Cobb Stage 2+ Aggressive v301 then switched to v402, VRSF Downpipes, VRSF 7" FMIC, Injen Dual Cone Intakes, Titek Charge Pipe w/ HKS BOV 4) Level of gas ran and how much gas in the tank? (ex: 93 octane and 1/4 of a tank) 1/2 tank of Sunoco 93 5) Any weight reduction done to the car?? (ex: removal of rear seats) More like weight added, trunk full of tools and other crap, Car weighed 3725lbs with me in it 4) Type of tires and rims?? (size and weight if possible) 18x8.5/9.5 Volk TE-37s 235/40 front 265/35 Rears on Continental DW 5) Years of driving the type of transmission?? First time ever taking this car to the track, so was babying it. I've driven MT for close to 10 years with other manufacturers 6) Obviously some type of proof of your 0-60 time, trap speed and finally quarter mile time. Preferably some video or slip or link to the drag time slip website to your direct slip. This was my first trip to the track with a RWD car. I was running the old v30X maps and someone lent me a laptop to download newer maps (v402?) but don't know if it had time to adapt. I might go again next week, I didn't really "launch" but for the most part took off from idle as I didn't know the optimum RPM's to launch. I ran the car the same way I daily drive it, just dropped rears to 30 psi. Any tips would be appreciated.

1. 2007 E90 6 Automatic
2. DA 1500. Temp 45 Degrees. 35% Humidity. No Wind 3. JB4 G5 ISO Map 7, VRSF Downpipes, No Kitty's or Mufflers, BMS DCI 4. 1/4 Tank of Gas 5. Weight Reduction about 100 pounds, also I weigh about 200 pounds. 6. Alufelgen SF71 19's Michelin Pilot PS2's 7. Many years track time with manual, but first automatic and with this car. Was having tranny issues that day, was missing between shifts and also overreving. Fix after turning off FUA option for post shift timing and also upgrading to ISO 19 firmware from 16. Could of hit 11's but had 2.1-2.3 60's, didn't launch in second, map 5 with ethanol mix seems stronger, old firmware, and tranny problems as mentioned. Also sitting in the garage is a intercooler waiting to be put on and same with mufflers. Ended up running 12.2 at 118.5 MPH at Thunder Valley in Noble, Oklahoma and happy. |

2009 335i coupe
Automatic Cobb stage 2 sport, AR catless downpipes, drop-in filter, RPI scoops, and the HPF gen 2 exhaust. Stock intercooler, stock fuel pump, stock snails, stock wheels. (18 inches on Michelin PSS's) (rear tires were very bald) 1/2 tank of CALIFORNIA 91 octane 2nd gear launch no brake boosting. Sea level, 65 degrees I ran a 4.211 0-60 and the quarter 12.609 at 111.8 mph. I'm on my phone so it won't let me put up a picture. Keep in mind this was timed on my COBB AP, no idea how accurate it is. |

Thanks dude. Yes 2nd gear launch @ about 2.3k-2.5k and then feathering throttle until I'm confident in traction lol. I try to shift at 6 - 6.1k.

If you're making zeels level of boost you really should upgrade. It has legitimate benefits as the stock cp and dvs were not intended for 2x stock boost. Also some have had the stock charge pipe blow off under load. Jake from PTF was dyno-tuning my car Friday and we couldn't make more than 17 lbs boost. Could be dvs. I'll be upgrading soon. My car should be around 400 wheel hp with E40 once we get that sorted.

I like it because it is a simple setup. Also the Tial bov is really quiet. Most people don't even realize I have a bov.

i would, definitely. Jake@PTF just did a Protune for E40 on my car and could only get 17 lbs of boost with safe WGDC values on stock turbos. I can't say 100% that it's my stock DVs and CP yet, but Jake definitely think there's a good chance that it's the culprit. I would highly recommend getting those mods done before the protune if possible. That said, every car's different and yours could be fine...but to get the most out of your protune it'll be one less thing to think about...
