Regardless of how they're scored, in a real life scenario if you were to go head on against a car it'd fair a lot worse than a bimmer. Probably a zippy and convenient car to drive but I personally wouldn't find them safe because of some personal accident experiences.
I'll take my chances. I don't buy cars for the safety as bad as that sounds. (At least not until I have a family of my own.)
