too good to be true?

Tonight i ran into another bmw enthusiast in a debadged 535i e60 with a carbon fiber trunk along the way home. We talked at the light and he said he had only a jb4( he didn't mention e85 so I'm assuming he's running 91 octane). We did a run from 50mph with his passenger counting off. I pulled on him hard and put a couple car lengths on him. I'm only running 40% e85 with jb4 and bms intake. We both had one passenger each.

Being an n55, I figured it should've been a closer race with him winning. Looking back I'm assuming it was too good to be true and that he didnt go WOT. Does that sound about right?

Not sure why you think your car running e85 should not pull a bigger, heavier car running 91 octane.

+1

I don't see anything out of the extraordinary. Even stock to stock the 3 series should be quicker

From my research, the 535i weighs less than 100lb more and a n54 with a tune should be at around 340rwhp. I should be around 350-360 rwhp.

so you're saying that he weights more than you, that you should have 10-20 more rwhp and you're wondering why you beat him?
