Relocating cigarette adapter

I want to relocate the adapter from the center console to the glove box...

Is this possible?

if so.... how?

Step 1: Remove adapter from center console

Step 2: Run extended 16 gauge(approx) wires from center console to glove box (I'm guessing one for possitive and another for negative)

Step 3: Fabricate mounting solution in glove box for adapter

BTW, why are you doing this?

Why the heck would you go to all that trouble?

The fuse box is right inside the glove box. Just get an add-a-fuse and a generic cigarette lighter adapter and wire it up to a fuse and ground.

Then you'll have one in the box AND one in the console.

This would be an easy alternate solution.

I would like to do this too as the charger for my MP3 player when plugged in makes my armrest stick up. Its easier to run the AUX cord to the console with the player in the glovebox.

Your car comes already prewired for that. Then you only need th following:
//http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-Auxiliary-Power-Adapter-E90-E91-E92-335-330-328-325_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38655QQihZ010QQitem Z200114142670QQrdZ1
It is plug and play.

I just tried and you are right, the link doesn't work. I don't know how to make work, but in eBay look for: BMW Auxiliary Power Adapter E90 E91 E92 335 330 328 325. It is currently there. I bought that about six months ago for my 330i
and works fine

^ thats perfect to use for putting the mp3 player in the glovebox. Thanks!!

After looking at it further, can you close the glovebox with it installed, or do you have to leave it open?
