Like that picture, the AUX and Power Cord for this unit is on the bottom, but your picture doesn't seem to have any plugged in? So when you took your picture, you didn't plug in those lines to make it look cleaner just for posting purposes right? And when you actually use it, you have them plugged in?

Do you leave the screen mounted when you park your car? I would worry about someone breaking your window and stealing your GPS. One of the main down side of a non-factory GPS setup.

No clue, just an example to show the location of the power adapter on the Magellan 1700. How does OP pic's not have power cord showing?

It's a little metal bracket covered with protective cloth not to scratch the car. The bracket was custom made, but it's just an L shape that was then attached to the original clip that came with the GPS. The wiring piggybacks off of the cigarette lighter so there's not much to it.
On a side note I autocrossed it today, and the clip held up just fine on a very bumpy course. |
