Please stop emailing me about parting out my car. I will not get my car back for a long time, and I'm still trying to figure out if I'm going to or not!

Does anyone need E90 tail lights and/or a front grille? I'm moving to California and would rather not have to bring them with me.

Anyone have the screw-in metal sleeves that fit on TMPS's? I need two. Long story, but I'm warning you not to let Firestone install them for you.

lol. just got a call back from the insurance and they should be emailing me the estimates. the guys initial estimate was at 4700 LOL. he's like i know it's going to be more than that, but it's just a starting point.

i talked to the girl at classic that was going to be working on my car. asked her if i could get the msport bumper since i already had an aftermarket bumper anyways, and shes like theres a lot to be replaced, so i told her i would pay out of pocket. she seemed like she didn't want to do it , and said she had to ask her boss b/c they never do that. i told her i have aftermarket either way, so what are they going to do? she was like, i'm not sure, i have to get the estimate in my hands first...

That sounds like a bunch of BS. Insurance pays to replace what was damaged, whether it was aftermarket or not. If it was aftermarket, then BMW should honor that and at least allow you to bring in parts or something. However, BMW are definitely sticklers with 'stock' being the only way to go... and I can see how they wouldn't want to put aftermarket on since they are doing repairs. Trying to match up a stock repair with an aftermarket part that could easily be misaligned to begin with could be a nightmare. Either way, I hope you get it at least back to the way it was. such a beauty!

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out whats within my rights, ect. I talked to her again and emailed her a few questions. I also called the insurance again and I'm trying to figure out what's going to happen. Teardown will be done today and I should hear back from them tomorrow. I noted to him that in my estimate it did not include my aftermarket front, and my msport rear bumper/diffuser. They just quoted normal bumpers on there...

This is not always the case for the insured. This is always the case for the claiment. If you are the insured you must have coverage for aftermarket parts for the insurance company to cover it. If you are the claiment (like Micheal is) The other persons insurance company must restore the vehicle to pre-accident condition. If this means replacing "aftermarket" items so be it.

Just be aware, it is writin into everyones auto insurance policy (even mine) that when you are the insured the insurance company can use whatever parts (LKQ,Keystone,OEM,ect.) to repair your vehicle.

That's probably the body shop just not wanting to deal with it. That's where a lot of them make their extra money. The insurance company should give you the value of those parts though. When I had an accident with my S4, the dealer replaced my aftermarket exhaust for the price of a brand new one. I was able to get the euro rear bumper instead of the factory US spec with me adding addition money.
