BMWNA Authorized a Oiler Cooler Retrofit - But I already have one?
Been going back and forth with NA and they finally authorized a oil cooler retrofit for my car, after I've provided them with my VIN, my packages (I have zsp), and manual tranny type (MT). They gave my dealership the green light to schedule an appointment, and I have. Though from reading the threads on here, and going off what is shown in the thread below, I already have an oil cooler.
What to do now? Anyone else run into this situation? http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...oil+cooler+e92 Last edited by dArNeLLi; 09-29-2008 at 10:58 PM.. |

Strange that they did not know that before. Your not gonna get much of anything - other than their critical looks. The parts are preshipped before they schedule the repair. So now they are just gonna have to ship them back. I would recommend you just call the 800# back (after you VISUALLY confirm - bc I have seen a 6speed manual with ZSP and no OC) and tell them 'nevermind'.

I am at a loss as to why you didn't save yourself the hassle and look in the wheel well

Edit Not sure what aspect of my post you needed confirmation on. If it was the manual not having the OC, it was at a houston Mercedes dealer - under hood pics showed no OC lines. Maybe it was a series of pics from another 335, but there was no indication that was the case.

I would have to say that the pics of that car did not match with the specs given, because there has never been any reports of someone with MT and ZSP 335i not having a factory oil cooler. I also have an 10/06 build, AT, ZSP and had the oil cooler retrofit.
