Oil filter question...

I'm getting ready to do my first oil change for my 2007 E91, all of the others were done by the dealer, but in the filter I received there was just the big "O" ring and the copper crush gasket. I thought there was a small "o" ring on the filter carrier in addition to the big "O" ring.

Does the little one not need replacing?

there is supposed to be a big black o'ring, a small green o'ring for the stem and a copper crush washer for the drain plug, recheck the box, bag and garbage, maybe you dropped it

you can probably get away with re using the green one, if you inspect it for any cracks or tears

I've seen OEM filters packaged with only the copper crush washer and the larger o-ring.
