If price and longevity are similar to OEM, add me to the list. 80k on the original one

If longevity is equal to or greater (hopefully) than the OEM part, please add me to the list.

Hey yozh. I contacted fluidampr regarding your question and this was their response. Thanks for everyone's support let's keep the momentum going!

In a performance application (i.e. all Fluidampr products) the damper will never wear out or go bad. The only time an undamaged damper can go bad is with press fit applications when the press fit is lost (by repeated removal and installs). Our parent company, Vibratech TVD, does manufacture dampers for heavy duty diesel applications that we recommend changing the damper between 500,000 ? 750,000 miles. This is due to the constant running of a heavy duty diesel engine where the engine see?s much more torque and heat than a Fluidampr damper will endure.

I think I'll play it safe and swap for a new one at 500,000 miles

What exactly is the failure mode of the harmonic damper? What exactly is causing it to fail? I'm asking is to see if this fluid damper actually meaningfully addresses the common cause of failure. If not what other advantages might it offer?

The rubber dampening material in between the part of the damper that attached to the crank and the part that drives the accessories fails. The fluidampr would completely eliminate the possibility of that failure more.

Awesome. Just to share what came from the x5 side of the forum..

"In general, the Fluidampers, even though often HEAVIER than stock, actually make the car produce more power (Or perhaps I should phrase it, free up power?)

Those parts if made for our cars, are a very legit piece of gear. Never thought of when compared to a fancy exhaust or tune. But still a solid part to install."

Even though my brand new one is sitting on my kitchen table about ready to go in...... Im probably in for one as well

Frankly, we all should be....its not a question of if, its when...

Not to mention....they dont seem to be a stocked part very often. So you are down until its delivered....and this is half the price of stock, with no lifetime limitations... This is a no brainer.

Count me in. Sounds like a very over engineered product for our cars. I would be impressed to see their results and power node failure points if they have that to show us? Also any real world applications similar to our cars.

I'm in for one as well, I'm at 92k on the stock one so I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
