Non-Sport vs Sport Suspension - Serious Talk

I wasn't going to start a new thread on this, yet, most others have ended with lots of un answered questions for me.

So far I have come to learn that E90 sports package gives you .6" lower ride height with stiffer springs. Anything else? shocks are different? bushings?

well from what i notice, it's alot more stiffer than the regular and the shocks give alot less body roll than regular as well. And what i love is that the sport/mtech suspension can recieve a bigger beating than usual without giving out

It really is. You can read up all you want about how to please a woman, you can look at all the diagrams in the world, but just like the clitoris, you won't know what the hell an apex is before you actually find it.

I am not sure how the American domestic market varies to the UK but I have just swapped from SE stock suspension to M sport damper (firmer rate) and Eibach Pro lines. I have also has a full M sport Geo set up which entails more camber and toe.

The result is like night and day more turn in and much better feel. Its all very well swapping the suspension over but it needs to be set up properly to reap the benefits.

One thing though it is much firmer!!1

Shorter/stiffer springs, stiffer struts/shocks, larger dia. sway bar(s) set for staggered wheel set up.

Spring rates

I'd be curious to know what the spring rates between the two setups. How much stiffer are they?

So just shocks and springs with thicker sways? No beefier control arm bushings or anything?

Well the thing is, my 328i got stock RF 16" tires. Ride is smooth but I do feel bouncing around at high speed bumps. I come from cars that had Koni coil overs with other suspension tweaks, but I want to keep this car comfortable as possible without washed out steering feel and handling. I think OEM 18" with sports chocks and springs should get me pretty far... (?)

If you mean sport and non sport I dont think we have that. But for those that may not have noticed, there are many spring rates listed in the spring rate sticky.

Sounds like Sports springs and sports shocks with M3 rear sway is the way to go if you want to stay OEM+

You'll find that ZSP springs are fine but the shocks are less than stellar. I would add a set of Bilstein HDs instead of OEM sport shocks with ZSP springs.

This is due to comfort or performance?

Both. You get better ride control and less sway. It just feels much more solid.

You might want to research sway bars before you install that M3 rear bar.
I have Koni FSD's for sale and can include the zsp 13mm rear bar if you're interested..

What are the concerns about getting the M3 rear sway?

Reason you are getting rid of FSD's?

Loss of rear wheel traction/ snap oversteer.

Just installed Koni Sports; wanted stiffer dampeners.

Anyone know if there is any problem installing the staggered wheel setup without the sport sway bars? I only ask because of the earlier post stating that sport sways allow this.
