Ok, out of curiosity. If my car is being delivered at the end of this month, do I request that this version is in my car or will it automatically be upgraded by the dealer during PDI?

^ check with your dealership, usually they're more willing to update it for you (if it doesn't have the updated version already from the factory) when you're just picking up the car vs later on

However, later on, you can complain about any of the above 'reasons' and voila, a new update

So, if I go and complain about the above items, the stealer should be able to update to progman 25 (I have 24) under warranty? are there any items above that would cause an error message that is detectable to contradict what I say?

Just made an appointment with my dealer and they are going to upgrade my car next week on the 28th. I had the radio issues, the missing arrow, and another issue which this should address hopefully!

GREAT! this is just another bug we can use to get them to install V25. to those that haven't read about this on the other posts - V25 supposedly has several improvements, added functionality (POI by name), faster, and resolves a few bugs.

another bug is the pop up arrow display feature when Nav is enabled and arrow display is not selected.

I talked to my local dealer earlier this week, quoted the arrow pop-up bug, and they said they would load the new SW for me....but they won't have it until next week.

I'm hoping that this fixes the "loud humming noise" that I've heard in my car, and the satellite fault fixes the problem where it sometimes thinks that I haven't subscribed.

Thanks for the info!

"CCC: Slow response to inputs made when using controller after startup."

Doesn't this mean that pretty much any of us with iDrive can get a free update based on this? Unless perhaps BMW has a radically different concept of time.

Some have reported 30 seconds to a minute of freeze time after starting the car. For example, selecting entertainment after start up causes the screen to hang for substantial time. My guess is this is what is meant by slow response to inputs. Just 5 seconds of waiting for a screen probably wont cause a need for the upgrade even though 5 seconds feels like an eternity when driving. It never hurts to ask your dealer. They will probably ask you to come in to take a look at the slow screens first hand.

I called my dealer and quoted the arrow issue and I'm now scheduled for service in two weeks... I'll keep my fingers crossed that they upgrade to V25.

Why keeping your fingers crossed? There isn't much that they can
do BUT upgrade you to V25 if them and you want this fixed. And if they
don't want to fix it, show them your baseball bat in the trunk of you car

Just make sure to take it with you before giving them the keys for service, otherwise it'll probably get stolen

If you get this done, please post some pictures or confirm that the POI search is functional and that the main screen graphics have been removed...

I realize some EU pics have been posted already, but would like a "second opinion"

Can anyone explain this "CCC: Navigation system pop-up arrow display missing" thing?

Is this when you've selected a destination and the Navi map is displayed, are the routing arrows supposed to "pop up" before you take the turns (but they don't)?

What if you have the small Navi screen on the right and the large Entertainment screen on the left activated...are the routing arrows still supposed to pop up? This is the way I usually have mine set, even when I set a destination, but I would like it if I could actually "see" where I'm supposed to turn via the routing arrows; I only hear the voice telling me where and when to turn (of course, it rarely says the exact street name -- usually just says to turn up a ahead onto "the highway.")

Thanks.

That's exactly what it is. With V25 you will have the option to enable the
pop-ups so if you have the navi map on the right and you are doing guidance
you will see the arrows popping up for turns etc when before you wouldn't.
And if you had the navi on mute you would be happily missing turn after turn
after turn

I hope the CD/CDC track advances also fixes the problem with my iPod advancing since it uses the same CD selection. It is a pain for audio books. I also experience the NAV slow response, and the pop up window. I will be scheduling today.

Thanks for posting.
