Vishnu's Accomplishments Summarized

I was writing my brother an email to explain what was goin with the 335i's (he is 23 and just about to finish college at WWU studying automotive design) and I figured I would just post the data I sent to him based on all the threads thus far with Shiv's latest products. Anyone new to e90post and considering Vishnu should really find some good info here, and it clarifies a bit for anyone not sure what power the different products are making on average:

Here are shiv's products on the dyno on 91 octane, i will summarize for you assuming a 12.7% drivetrain loss (on his 6-speed manual). Besides the stock run, all include intake and Vishnu cat-back exhaust on a dynojet:

Product ---------- Dyno #'s ----------- Est. Motor HP -------- Gains

>Stock Car ------- 276whp/288wtq ---- ~316hp/330tq ---- +0whp/0wtq

>Happy Meal RS2 -- 314whp/312wtq ---- ~360hp/357tq ---- +38whp/24wtq (DIY wire in a couple parts from radio shack)

>Procede 1.48 ----- 340whp/366wtq ---- ~389hp/419tq ---- +64whp/78wtq

>Procede V2.02 ---- 361whp/373wtq ---- ~414hp/427tq ---- + 85whp/85tq (and broader powerband)

The important thing about V2 is that it taps into two more wires to control both solenoids for boost control... this means that compared to 1.48, @ 6600rpm it's making 70hp and 60tq greater at the wheels! This makes for a far better pull in the 5k+ rpm's and a nice broad powerband. My car drives like stock on partial throttle but with a less resistant feel and idles better.

2.03 should be going back to 390-400+ torque at the wheels = ~446-460tq at the motor... some people were getting check engines lights due to sensors (just annoying) with the high torque on the 2.00 map so 2.02 reduced that while increasing hp and makes for an excellent daily driver (or track) map.

On 98 octane Shiv got 413hp and 439tq at the wheels! That is about 472 hp and 503 tq at the motor! That is similar power to a stock E55 supercharged V8 but lighter car and pulls to 7k rpms Not to mention the E55 was 85k+ new!

When he gets the downpipes installed, he is going right back to work... should be impressive. I am guessing they will get the car to 430-440whp (490-505 hp at the motor) on 98 octane with just intake, turboback, and procede V2, but time will tell for sure.

Great summary!

Thanks!

I am also guessing the gains that will comne with DP + specific Procede map, but more specifically I am referring to gains that anybody running on 93-94 octanes can get, on a daily basis and not just with race gas!

Not all dealerships are carrying Dinan products. Dont be dupped. They have dwindled down over the years and youd be lucky to find 1 or two in your state.

Out of curiousity, what happens when people start doing downpipes, intakes, etc. on the dinan tune. Will they void that warranty? What a lot of you Dinan guys don't get is that people enjoy modifying their car. My guess is Dinan would pull the warranty much faster than BMW if you do any mods beyond their exact specs.

Your BMW warranty will be voided if it is found the Dinan product resulted in the warranty claim. If this happens the Dinan warranty will cover it.

They are two independent companies.

Where this is a potential problem is if you are on the road and there is no Dinan authorized dealer within towing distance. Then you will pay and try to get the money back from Dinan.
