2.0l Petrol E92 drivers??

Hi all

Am thinking of getting rid of my personal car [Audi A4 Cabrio] and going back to having a company car.

The 2.0l petrol E92 looks the biz and is cheap as chips to have as a co. car due to super low emissions.

Problem is, nowhere near me seems to have the 2l as a demo.

Anyone on here have one? and if so, how is it?

My Cab is pretty slow, so not expecting a race car. Had a 350Z before the Audi, so know how much nicer RWD is

Cheers

Chris

petrol = 17%
diesel = 19% and more wonga

Bells,

Have you tried Williams/Blue Bells in Manchester/Cheshire area?
Surely they would have the 2.0 as a demo in their network.

Or what about trying a used car from BMW stock?

17%! the 2.0 is certainly cheap on the co. car scale! gonna cost me 2.5x as much to get the 335i.

It's not that slow either i guess, my current golf does 0-60 in 8.6 & that seems quite nippy to me. the 320i does it in 8.1.

And you get to join the exclusive petrol club

If the golf seems nippy - the 335i is gonna blow your socks off!!!! 5.5s 0-62

the 320d e92 is 7.8 0-62 and 18% - 19% is for the auto.

The 320D in auto is near as damn it a second quicker than the 320i auto 0-60

Food for thought, gonna head over to Leeds this afti [been dealing with Bradford so far, who have bumped their demo car!], see what they have.

Am going contract hire for the car [2 years], the Sport can be had for £320 a month exc vat, which is a pretty good price. Is at the top of my budget though, so no extras. Need to see what the alcantara seats are like, if they are awful i will have to spec an SE with 18in alloys and leather.

Like the look of the Sport though, very tasty!

THe alcantara is very nice - get the sport - you'll only regret it otherwise.

i have to say i found the sales staff most unhelpful in Bradford. 1 even said they didn't have a car in to test whilst there was one at the front door. leeds I found to be very helpful and even moreso harrogate.

Cheers for the heads up Bob. Bradford have been ok so far. The chaps at Leeds didn't even bother coming over to talk to me.

They had a sport with the alcantara, is rather nice. Will keep me glued in with the side bolsters fully extended!

Hi - I'd heartily recommend the msport model .. the extra kit is great.

I had a 143 bhp model 318 touring a while back which had similar power to the 320i. It's not going to set the world alight but it will handle well and be very smooth.

If you could swing it the 325i would be a whole lot better.

hi

i picked up a e92 320msport coupe at the start of the month. There are some pics on here somewhere. i came from a 2.5 z4. now that engine was very smooth and nice, but the ride was poor at times. Whilst 2l engine in the coupe isnt as quick, if your doing a lot of motorway crusing say at 75-85mph this engine is great, just slot it into 6th gear and sit back and relax.

I will miss the straight six, but the ride of the coupe and six speed box makes up for it.

if you want any more if just ask.

Picked up a e92 2.0l petrol on the 8th may. Its the wife's so I have not driven it that much. But with 170bhp it seems pretty quick to me. Her previous car was the 143bhp e46 coupe which was also fine. I drive a 530d about to pick up a new 535d and the new e92 does not seem underpowered at all.

I had no idea that the 320i coupe was more powerful than the 320i saloon.

I'm sure BMW just want to confuse us these days.

170hp is going to make a fair difference compared to the saloons 150hp.
