Even if it's 1500$ shipped you would still have to pull out your turbos and send them in or find a pair on ebay. Then you have to pay to get them installed which is not like switching intakes...30-40rwhp I will vote for a Meth kit which can be had for 300$ and installed in a day.

Good luck though I hope it turns out good.

Shaft and wheel are one piece. Its not as simple as inserting a higher quality shaft only in the centersection... you have to make the Turbine wheel/shaft combo work. Unfortunately this wheel is just very small, and if you use it you are stuck with a tiny shaft.

Guys, if this upgrade will not only give you a boost in power but also solve the issues (rattle/siren) and/or used as replacement; then wouldn't these make sense instead of going for another set of OEM turbos???

Until you hear all the details, stop making assumptions.

I think this is a great step in the right direction, if not more.

I know that ASR was never a vendor on this forum, but did we ever hear about pricing for their upgrade?

I am also interested what GIAC will do for their Stg. 3 (turbo upgrade).

I appreciate people like OP for being the tester of an option for upgrade.

OP,

I believe your warranty is about to expire if it hasn't already. Why did you choose to touch the stock turbos when you could make a complete kit with another set of larger turbos? Especially after seeing a few fail at doing what you're attempting.

Yes waiting for an exhaust manifold to be made and running piping around would take a couple days longer than what you are doing now. But doing that would be a guaranteed improvement and give you more overhead plus doing a legit/complete job. Doing so also might give you the chance to break ASR dyno numbers.

procede v4 was designed to support upgraded turbos with ease, that is what we will be testing first!

The turbine shaft is very thin, adding the much larger compressor wheel will add huge amount of pressure on the shaft and cause problems. That is what I was told by two turbo shops thus I gave up on the whole upgrading stock turbos. Only time will tell.

+1

I'm not a turbo expert but this seems like Deja-Vu all over again.

You're a brave man JPS. I'm wishing you the best of luck too.
