New Wheels - finally some photos!
Well, after spending what seemed like forever looking for the right wheels, I've finally made a decision and placed an order with Chris at ******** (impressive service and turnaround time btw).
I really struggled with this, wanting something unique, but being obsessed with OEM 313s ever since I saw this photo - apparently it's the stock finish though it looks different to me: I eventually forced myself to stop thinking about those, as I wanted something more unique, even though they are up there with my favourites, for sure. I considered going 313s in gloss black diamond turned, but although I liked them a lot, I just wasn't 100%: I then was very tempted by the same wheels as rufnekfatboy, the Mille Miglia 1002s, but in dark anthracite polished. I enquired about those too, but was a little put off by the response I got from that particular outlet. I eventually decided that while they look great on the E93, they might not go so well on the E92: I also really liked the Cades Apollo which Josh suggested, but wasn't sure if silver painted was the best colour against my Sapphire Black (can't remember whose car this is, sorry! stunning though!): Then Chris at ******** posted these Quantum44 TS1s, and I actually enquired as they look so good, and his car is very similar to mine so it gave me a pretty spot on idea of how they would look on my car: However the tyres were just too stretched for my liking on these wheels, which is a shame because had that not been the case, I think I was going for those And then, I eventually came across another wheel on Chris' website, which I hadn't seen or heard of before. Despite some serious Googling, I couldn't find many photos at all of them fitted to a car, let alone on an E92. In a bit of an impulse, I took the plunge yesterday and went for it. I did a quick Photoshop but other than that, I don't really know what they will be like on my car. I haven't even ordered tyres yet, as I want to put them next to my car to see what they're like and whether I want to keep them. They are due to be delivered on Friday, so I'll keep the surprise until then, but all I'll say is that they're a little bit similar to the Quantum44s which I really liked... I'll post an update soon

I do like those Rotas very much! Looking great Mark, the colour of those wheels goes really well with the bodywork! You and me both, brother! I haven't seen them on an E92 yet He seemed really good, I was worried about not being able to reach him as I wasn't able to call him until the evening when I was back from work. He picked up straight away and was happy to help. He also dispatched the wheels less than 24 hours after I called him! Quote:
Sorry to disappoint Sean, pics on Friday if the wheels arrive as planned - it will be wheels only though, still need to buy some tyres for them Quote:
Hehe, sorry Josh. I didn't want to post a generic pic, rather I'd prefer to post my own. Should have waited until Friday really, but was too excited to wait! Love the TE37s, but sadly forged wheels are way out of my budget I do not think the ones I went for are a replica brand (could be wrong!), but they are cast wheels. I couldn't find much information about the brand at all to be honest.

Same as everybody, read through it all for no answer at the end lol.
I was the same when trying to decide on wheels, went through about 10 designs before finally choosing the ones I wanted... Wanting to change again now though haha. Can't wait to see what you've gone for! |

Hehe, sorry guys, reading your comments made me feel a bit bad now... Quote:
So yesterday I went on to the courier's website (TNT) and arranged delivery for Friday afternoon with the sign-my-life-away consent that they could leave them in front of my door without me being there to sign them. So you can imagine my surprise when I got home (late) from work today and saw this: I haven't even ordered the tyres yet! So I moved them inside, and opened one of the boxes to take a look. The wheels were well protected inside the boxes, with this protective cover in front of the wheel face: I removed this last cover, and decided I liked what I saw I snapped a few pics with my phone for you guys as I was feeling a bit bad after that anticlimactic first post... My phone camera is not great and it was dark so the lighting was terrible, I'll have to get some proper pics soon. I think it's one of the rears, I hope so as it's concave enough for my liking. The whole face is diamond turned, and even in the rubbish lighting I could see all the light rainbows dancing across it. I tried to take a photo but it doesn't show at all. I need a good camera and Achu's skills. So there you have it. They are OEMS IFG3. I've never seen them before and can't find much about this manufacturer on the internet, their site hasn't got much info. Does anyone know if they are replicas of a well known wheel? I decided to go for a diamond-turned finish as I think it looks great against the black paint, better than just silver painted. I've been warned about all the problems with lacquer peeling, etc. and have decided to risk it. If it starts to peel, I'll remove it completely and try to keep on top of the unlacquered metal... Let's see how it goes. Feel free to share your honest thoughts, even if you hate them. It has occured to me that if I've never seen them before, it could be because nobody likes them... Hell, I'm not completely sure I'll like them when they're fitted! I'll post some more pics when I've managed to get them fitted, which will hopefully be next week. I'll use a proper camera too
