I don't get it.

She's not stunning (wouldn't be my first choice, but wouldn't kick her out of bed or anything), and her music is dire, at best.

She reminds me of Lady Gaga a little, in as much as she's starting her career by trying to make a name for herself as being "outrageous" rather than her musical talent.....maybe talent is the wrong word....ability? No...aspirations...perhaps.

Maybe she has none of the above, which would explain it.

@ Pats - After the public TV slating she got on that show, whatever it was, where she was acting a bellend on stage with that other dude who sung "blurred lines", I don't think she has any credibility over here with anyone over the age of 12 either.

As Russ says, basically has a minor amount of talent, and is making the most of that by going for the shockability factor. Those photos aren't sexy or provocative, she looks like a 12 year old!

Shes not good looking, the clothes she wears are awful, her songs aren't great - yet because of all these things, she is grossing more money than most of us can dream of!

Can't say as that I'm offended by it, personally.

It does piss me off how you can act a like a complete fucking tool and somehow that becomes your career. Any normal person would more likely get arrested or fined.

They should include that in the schools careers talks

It's unbelievable that these fading wholesome child starts still go in for the "look everyone, i'm all growed up , I drinks booze, smoke cigarettes, does the sex and will probably develop an addiction to some prescription drug that no one has every heard of in a year or 2, just to keep me in the news." routine. It's so fucking boring.

She will do all the above, disappear, run out of money, clean up and make yet another come back as her old wholesome self and be on every talk show boring everyone with tales of how she made some mistakes. Probably do a book as well and make a fortune.

I don't know about solely but to a large extent I'd say yes. Am I correct in thinking that her moment of Zen came while smoking weed but it turns out it wasn't weed but one of those legal, herbal substitutes? She's like someone trying to be a bit rock and roll but on shandy.

Then again all my information is acquired via a combination of Radio 4 and Twitter. But if people on Twitter are taking the piss then I guess that makes her the butt of jokes. All I need is for Jim Naughtie to comment and that's my mind made up.
