Two questions for people more familiar with Dinan.
Can you do a reflash on a lease? I've seen it go both ways in these threads, does anyone know for sure? Does Dinan and their warranty work with other aftermarket parts? Say I do a Vishnu Exhaust, and ITG, would Dinan turn around and blame them for the failure (assuming there is one) and deny claim? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.. |

I wonder what the negotiations among Steve & Tom & Norbert involved, but 'protection' of the M3 does not seem to be on the line, given the promise of bigger turbos and other performance mods that will clearly put the 335 beyond stock M3 levels.

Dinan is a company that bases it price on the market that is overpriced already...So making a agreement with BMW that promotes their product is just making more profits for BMW....Dinan wants to be in partnership with BMW, the only problem is that they are only getting a small percentage of the pie in dollars...They probably agreed with BMW to take a small cut as far as the the tunes and most of the proceeds of the 1999 tune will go to BMW...While back i heard Dinan was in the verge of losing ties with BMW, then all of a sudden things change....Reason in my mind is Dinan decided to take it up the ass and give into BMW corporate demands. Without BMW sponsoring them, they are no better than any other tuning company!!

I am 100% certain that it is reversible. If they can modify/reflash the code/constant tables, then they can put the values back to stock.

I think that you may have a problem with the warranty if anything goes wrong. He states that it is a factory "matching" warranty. Therefore, if you have a problem, Dinan will blame BMW and BMW will blame Dinan. Meanwhile , your car will sit in the shop waiting for you to come out of your pocket.

For those of you who want the reflash and don't have the oil cooler which in my mind should come already from the factory, would you shell out an additional 2000 grand for an oil cooler which should have already been installed from the factory...I see BMW NA will be getting alot of complain calls from people wanting the reflash stating that the their cars are running hot and need the oil cooler, but in actuality they want it so they can save the 2000 grand...More headaches for BMW

Ya but I'm sure the price of the bigger turbos will make the whole package(tune+turbos+exhaust) cost more than an m3.

Not if they make more profit on the M3, which there's no doubt they do.

Dinan Flash review From this thread:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100600 then i picked it up! Just got home from my "spirited" driving and all I can say is OMG it is fast from the high amount of torque that you can feel to the steady but really quick increase in hp as you gain rpm's. While daily driving is still a wounderfull experience and such. When you drop it down a gear or two you can fully tell the cars saying push it in... ALL THE WAY. The thing that makes it stand out more then the piggybacks availible is that it feels like a completely different car in the sense that it feels like a new car and the throttle is completely different while the piggy backs are awsome but it is like Dinan dropped a more powerfull CPU in a old computer. ( I work on comps). Bottom line is it is fast, really fast dont let its numbers of torque and hp fool you, because it delivers and you get a warranty ask away on questions. and doing the dyno tmrw |
