Passing smog in the bay area, FBO!

hey all,
Need to do smog check by October for 2011 335i FBO, E30 MHD in the bay area, need to pass visual inspection. reply or PM me please if you know any mod friendly shops. I have o2 sim installed so good to go on readiness.

I don't know about Bay Area, but put your stock airbox back on, get some CEL eliminators, revert to stock tune.. If you have an obnoxious charge pipe with BOV, swap that out as not to draw attention. Catback exhaust doesn't matter, and intercooler is basically invisible. Make the car look as stock as possible. Probably 30-45 mins of work, and no reason to fail.

I've been to 4-5 local shops, and they briefly look under the hood to make sure there's nothing out of place, plug in the OBD reader, and it's done.

If you go in with a big honking BOV, chrome/painted shit underhood, etc, you're asking for trouble.

People make a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be.

I don't know what the year requirements are, but the place I went to about 2 months ago did not do a tailpipe smoke test for my 2011. All they did was check OBD and visual inspection.

So if you try what Squirt said, and also remove OCC if you have one, it has a high possibility of passing.

Maybe run more e85 incase they do a sniff test

I do, and it's been through 2 smog tests since. I've never seen a shop that actually tests the emissions, so it doesn't matter. DP fix allows readiness to clear.

i need a guy too. i tried "looking stock" and flashing to stock and using the dp fix but i could never get rid of the codes. already failed so many times id rather just pay someone a little extra to pass
