Techron in a newish car?

I've read all the praise for Techron and am curious if anyone thinks this can help a relatively newer car too? Mine is a 2011 N52 engine with 30k on the clock. I've noticed a slight shudder when stopped at a light. Could this be clogged injectors and has anyone used Techron in a relatively new car with any success?

Your car is still under warranty. I would bring it to a BMW dealership and have them diagnose/fix it.

+1 knowing dealers they will do all sorts of unnecessary stuff like replace your fuel injectors, but hey, it's on their dime so let them fix it.

If no codes are being thrown use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner (concentrate). It solves rpm fluctuating upon cold start-up. Also, for most BMW problems start off by scanning your car with the Peake Research Tool. It contains the actual BMW codes. If you want to register a newly installed battery for free (just buy a $10 cable) and google/download BMWLogger

I think stealer will more likely try to sell you an injector cleaning service than fix the problem. I would throw in a bottle to see what happens first.

BTW, 30K might be a new car on a Honda. For BMW, that's middle age ^_^

BMW repackages techron as a fuel system cleaner. Honestly just go pick one up and try it to see it helps. If it doesn't then bring it back into the stealership and see what value they can offer you =D Good Luck!!

I never see it go on sale like that =( I often time drive to the US Border Chevron (I live in Vancouver BC Canada, 20 mins away from border) and it'll cost me something like $12.99 - $16.99 (i forgot, don't care because its already cheaper). In Canada, they charge $16.99 for the 12 oz and something like $24.99 for the 20oz

In case someone don't know, there are many different variations of Chevron product, only the Concentrate Plus worth the effort from what I read.

Yes it works, but probably works better on non DI vehicles because it cleans intake valves as well. Regardless, great product. Use sparingly though, when used too excessively its just a waste of money.

I heard you need to change oil soon after using the concentrate plus, true?

What about the lowest potency ones? I got 6x12oz for $10 from Costco. Wondering if I should use the low concentration ones maybe once every other month? Or skip it and just stick to one plus before every oil change.

Thanks.

Eh, sounds more of an urban legend about wearing off lead bearings. 1) Chances of high amounts of the mixture entering your oil stream is low, and if you have this issue, you probably are running 100k+ miles and have leaks in your gaskets 2) We have no idea what the bearings in our cars are actually made of, though I'd guess it's probably not lead.

I just put one in mine, and I did an oil change about a month ago and won't change my oil again for another year or so. Never been an issue for me.
