Suggestions for low-priced wheels/tires for track
What's the best setup I can run with my 335i sport coupe for the track?
I'm guessing best to go with a square setup .. just not sure what exactly to look for in terms of size / diamiter and so on.. Any help is appreciated

Many use 17" wheels with 225/45R17 tires to get a lighter weight setup and better prices on the tires. In particular, the Kosei K1 Racing is popular due to its price, low weight, and durability.
Alternately, I see some using 18" setups with 225/40R18 or 235/40R18 all around. Wheels http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AH8&...eels/index.jsp

You should look into some Forgestar F14s if you want a lightweight 18'' setup:

What are the pros and cons of the Forgestar F14's Vs. the Apex ones?

Go with the apex- and I chose the 17's- they still look great and the tires are so much cheaper. The arc-8 17's will clear whatever you have.

Another track wheel option would be the 17x9.5" ET35 ARC-8, but this one will require some work for the wheels to fit properly. The advantage of the 17X9.5” ARC-8 easily supports a 255/40/17 R-compound tire. The 255 R-compound runs much wider than the stock 255 tires and this wider wheel was designed to provide the needed sidewall support. The additional support stiffens the sidewall and with less flex the tire will resist rolling over during hard cornering. This all results in sharper handling, better tire life, and a little more fun on the track! With the wide track tires a 5mm wheel spacer is required in the front to clear the strut, and about -2.8 degrees of camber for the fronts to not rub onto the fenders.

Now that you made the less important, but correct decision on what size wheels to buy...
What are you looking for in a tire? Track only R-compounds? Street + track "long lasting" extreme performance street tires? etc... |
