Bye bye E90...
Well my E90 went today - if you read my posts after getting it you won't be surprised...
Quite simply the most uncomfortable car I've ever driven - how BMW thought the ride is acceptable is beyond me ! Well thanks for the help and advice but I can't see me rushing to buy a BMW again cheers |

Sorry about that though. As you leave, I appear to be hooked. Gazza

I think the earlier E90's did have harder suspension.
As an instance my 2005 320i SE seemed to give a firmer i.e a less resilient ride than my current 2009 320D M-Sport, which can give a superb ride on good road surfaces. Potholes, it dos'nt like, but certainlly is better than the 2005 SE. |

I wouldn't have said the suspension on my e90 M sport was uncomfortable during normal driving but it did handle pot holes and uneven surfaces very badly, I think it's what people call "crashy". It never really bothered me at the time as my previous car had rock solid suspension. I didn't have high hopes for my current car as i'd read a lot of people on here say S line suspension was crap. I've actually found it to be very similar to M sport but it's less crashy. The e90 was however more comfortable due to better/softer seats.
Fact of the matter is sporty suspension will be hard. If you want soft suspension buy a shitroen and don't buy anything with the word "sport" in the name. Hope your next purchase is more agreeable for you. |
